Dream #003

Okay...bear with me on this one because it's quite confusing.

I have agreed to meet my parents somewhere. I don't know what this place is, only the address. When I arrive, it looks like a normal building so I just walk right in. I don't know why but I am yelling to someone outside as I walk in and I'm not saying anything good. Upon turning my head to the front, I unfortunately realize that I am in a church. My face burns as the entire congregation turns around to stare at me. I don't really look at any of their faces, just my father's. He has the most disgusted look on his face ever as he rolls his eyes at me and resumes his original positioning.

The congregation's leader is a woman which is surprising to me. I assumed any church I found my father in would not be so...what's the word...progressive? Anyways, she begins walking towards me and lecturing me about something but at this point, I'm so pissed that I've been conned into showing up at a church and subsequently making an ass out of myself that I ignore her and storm out.

I wander down the street and happen upon a man playing a large, blue guitar. The music coming from the guitar is the most beautiful music I have ever heard but he's not playing the guitar normally. He's got at least one of the strings off the tuning peg and is plucking it as he holds it away from the rest of the guitar. Surprisingly, it's working and making the most beautiful sounds ever. I look around and there are about a dozen others standing or sitting in front of the musician and all seem to be entirely entranced.

I decide the music has calmed me down enough to return to Doug's house. I arrive there and find that instead of his current apartment, he's living in some sort of a garage. Most of the furniture is there but it's surrounded by other shit. There are boxes of greasy car parts and tools lying around and stains on the floor. What I've always liked most about Doug is how clean he is so I begin to ask him why he's allowed his house to become such a mess. He tells me that since I've been back, he's been spending all his time with me and hasn't had any time to clean his house. I tell him I'm not more important than housekeeping and he just rolls his eyes. My previous anger returns easily and I tell him soon I'll be leaving for vacation so he'll have all the time he wants to clean.

Just then, my cell phone rings. I answer and it is my boss. Without even waiting for me to finish saying "hello" he says, "If you want to keep this job the very least you could do is show up!" I look at the clock and realize I'm over an hour late for work! I apologize and tell him I've no idea how I forgot. I tell Doug I'm late for work and run out to my car.

I don't know why but I immediately sit in the passenger seat of my car and ask Doug to take me to work. He looks at me like I'm crazy and says "First of all, you need your car to take deliveries at work. Secondly, this is your car...why would I drive you?" I look over at my driver's seat and realize I left my window open and it stormed. The water is literally pooled in the seat. I almost cry as I begin to beg him to let me take his car to work. He's still upset about me dogging his housekeeping skills so he quickly denies me.

I'm left in the drive way, over an hour late for work and with what will surely become a soaked ass.

Dream #002

It's midday and I'm absolutely wasted in my parents' house. I do not know why, what I'm doing or who decided it was a good idea to get this drunk when my parents could possibly be home anytime. All I know is that I am completely obliterated.

The doorbell rings and I stumble onto the porch, not even bothering to look out the window beforehand. It's a high school friend of mine, Jen. I recognize her immediately because I have seen her here and there since high school. I greet her and look at the other people she's brought with her. In my drunken stupor however, I fall off the porch and land not-so-gently on my head in the flower bed.

As I regain my composure and wobble back onto the porch, Doug comes out from the house. I steady myself against the railing as I realize he's not as drunk as I am and none of the new arrivals are drunk at all. I squint my eyes at the other three people who I've deducted seem to be male. I cannot make out their faces but Jen tells me their names. I do not remember their names but I get the impression they are our other friends from high school. Unfortunately, it's been so long since I last saw them I cannot recognize them.

I start to lose interest in the conversation and look back into the house. I now realize I (or someone) left the front door open. As soon as I conclude this is a horrible thing, my dog comes running out the door. She leaps at the strangers on the porch but I am, rather unfortunately, in the way. My head is about to hit the ground as once again I drunkenly topple over.

Dream #001

I'm running along a railroad bridge high above green water. I don't know why I'm running or how I'm feeling (ex: scared or carefree) but I know I'm running very fast. There is someone running behind me. They're not chasing me as the sight of them does not make me scared. I do not know who they are though...I cannot say male or female or even what color hair they have, I just know they are there.

As we're running, I hear a train coming. We stop to press up against the railing of the bridge so as not to get hit by the train. I practically hold my breath to prevent the train from scraping me but before the train can get that close, a big black dog jumps in front of it, tackling the person next to me. They both tumble off the bridge and into the water below. I see the splash and wonder if perhaps I'm supposed to jump off after them.

In the time it takes me to consider my options, the black dog is at my side and the train is gone. I look down and see no sign of the person who fell. The dog walks past me and continues on down the railroad tracks.
